Tomorrow's JH Conference Track Meet is in Hartington! 10:30am start for field events and 1:30pm start for running events. There is an entry fee of $5 for adults and $3 for students (K-12). No passes are accepted for this meet. #GoCats

DISTRICT MUSIC SCHEDULE CHANGE: A late change was made to our performance times today in Osmond. Our Jazz Band now performs at 1:50pm, and our Jazz Choir at 2:35pm!

HNS seniors Garrett Guy and Matthew Johnson practiced some food preparation skills today by making Italian and breakfast sliders. They were Mr. Uldrich approved! 👍

The Capitol performance is used to promote "Music in the Schools Month." After sending in an audition, performances are chosen from a state-wide competition, the HNPS Elementary Band was selected to perform and Senators were encouraged to attend to support our school music programs.
This year senator, Barry Dekay, introduced the band during the legislative session. All of the senators looked towards the balcony and gave the students applause. The performance was amazing. Mrs. Hahne was greeted and complimented with the NMEA president, Rex Barker, recommending that we submit a recording to perform at the NMEA conference in November, a clinic held for all music educators across the state of Nebraska. The students were greeted by the Lincoln Pius choir with compliments of sounding like a high school band. Then treated with the choir's performance. The students were in awe of the building architecture and the echo which made the band sound like a 90-piece band. The students were the perfect representation of Hartington-Newcastle Public school and Northeast Nebraska. They were so inspired by the experience, they asked if they could go back next year.
The performance can be found on facebook. Band Director Mary Hahne appreciates the hard work of the HNPS students and the assistance of the chaperones, cooks, parents, staff, administration and the school board for helping to make this opportunity possible.

The JH Track team will be competing at their home meet tomorrow the 11th at 2pm.
ACT & PreACT Testing takes place tomorrow (Wednesday, April 9). Sophomores & Juniors, please arrive by 8:00am for testing! Get a good night's sleep and eat a good breakfast! We'll see you tomorrow morning! #GoCats
