- Nate Metschke, Neligh-Oakdale band instructor and father of 3 small children, died the evening of Dec. 24 after complications during surgery to remove cancerous mass from his liver.

HNS is joining with other schools in the area to have a Penny War with the proceeds going to the Metschke family.

On February 14, the participating schools will post their total amount raised. Locally the HNS class PK-6 and 7-12 that raises the most money according to the rules, will receive a surprise treat!

Containers for the High School will be located at the main office.
