-These Volleyball girls need to get their jerseys turned in to Coach Haselhorst by Wednesday —- Evvie, Liby, Belle, Hailey, Autumn, Brianna, Caroline, and Erin M

 

-Play practice tonight for cast, chorus, lights and sound at 7 p.m. on the stage. 

-Close Up member you need to bring 4 - 2 liter bottles of pop for the pop shoot by Nov. 29.

 

-All Conference & Honorable Mention Volleyball and Football Students: There will be pictures taken today during homeroom. Meet at the central office.

 

-Student Council Members: Please bring your Thanksgiving Food to Sharon ASAP!

 

-Seniors you may start to bring in your baby/toddler pictures for the yearbook.  Images will be scanned and returned to you.  If you have your senior pictures chosen please e-mail a digital copy to Mrs. Pedersen, Liby or Gina. You may send one for the yearbook and one for the slide show if you choose.


-ONE BALL ROLL OFF – TRO-CATS GOING TO STATE BOWLING TOURNAMENT, Sat. 12/8/18

The Hartington Tro-Cats traveled to Wayne on Sunday, 11/18/18 for the State District Bowling tournament.  The Eastern “Class B” of 9 teams was divided into three groups.   Hartington was in the “B2” group bowling against Wayne & Seward teams. The top two teams advancing to State.

Team Bowlers:  Aiden Gratzfeld, 141, 146; Logan Buschkamp, 153, 147;  Sadie Uhing, 155, 138, 150; Wyatt Wiebelhaus, 149, 137; Tomas Kathol, 179, 143; Clarissa Paltz, 117 plus sub in,  Colin Potts 145, 115, 129.

Coaches:  Mike Emanuel & Nate Holan.

The format was for the team of five bowlers, bowling 3 individual games and 5 Baker format games.  Total pins would place you.  Top 2 teams qualify for State.

After 1st individual round, Tro-Cats bowled a 781 started in 1st, then after 3rd game settled in 2nd place. Bakers format started held a 2nd place till last game of Bakers. At the beginning of the 5th & last Bakers format, Tro-Cats were behind Seward by only 87 pins and Wayne was behind Tro-Cats by 43 pins. Wayne made up those 43 pins and The Tro-Cats ended up in a tie with Wayne with a total of 2830 pins each for 2nd place.  After calling the

NE HS Bowling Federation office…. It was a “ONE BALL” roll off to break the tie with the winner taking the Runner-Up spot.

Wayne won the toss and elected to throw their ball 1st… getting 7 pins.

Tro-Cat bowler, Logan Buschkamp, was selected to throw the ball for the Tro-Cats. (Logan is in 3rd place in the Eastern Div. with an average of 174)

Rolling the best ball of the day… he blasted all 10 pins off the lanes… getting that strike!! TRO-CATS secured the “RUNNER UP” spot and going to State.

STATE BOWLING: Saturday 12/8/18 at 9 am, Sun Valley Lanes, Lincoln NE. The same format will be used.  4 individual games and 5 bakers for total pins. Then placed in a bracket format. In the next round, best 3 of 5 Bakers bowled, winner advancing to the 3rd round of Bakers.   Once again, best 3 of 5 Bakers… the winner of this advances to Sunday arena finals.

STATE FINALS:  if qualify will be Sunday, 12/9/18 also at Sun Valley Lanes.  Time TBA.   The State Finals will be broadcasted on NET TV a week or two later.

INDIVIDUAL AWARD:  (best 2 individual games in a row)

Tomas Kathol bowled a 179, 143 for a 322 series to tie for top bowler in B2 division. Congrats bowlers!
