Announcements:

- The HNS varsity speech team took 6th out of 18 schools at Saturday’s HNS/CCHS speech meet.  Medal winners were:

Humorous Prose—Shaye Morten, 4th

Serious Prose—Reece Morten, 6th

Duet Acting—Dylan Dendinger and Isaac Bruning, 6th

OID—Dylan Dendinger, Sam Harms, Abbe Morten, and Shaye Morten, 2nd

Isaac Bruning, Parker Hopping, Reece Morten, Teagan Scoggan, and Bennet Sievers, 4th

 

The JV team took 7th out of 18 schools.  Medal winners were:

Entertainment—Carson Jones, 4th

Humorous Prose—Carsen Hopping, 3rd

OID—Turner Dendinger, Carsen Hopping, Jude Krie, and Alivia Morten, 1st

 

The next meet for HNS is Saturday at Wayne State College.

 

Thank you to everyone who helped make this meet run smoothly.  To Kevin and Sharon Lammers for all their work setting up and to Bill Mainquist and Jim Peitz for help cleaning up, to Deb Harms, the Booster Club, and parents from both schools for all of their help running the concession stand and the hospitality room, and to Mrs. Pedersen and Mr. Stappert for their help in the tab room. 

 

-Congratulations to the following Class winners for the Geography Bee: 4th grade: Allison Huesers, 5th grade: Landon Clark, 6th grade: Owen Kreizel, 7th grade: Maddie Steffen & Jack Steffen and 8th grade: Matthew Johnson. Overall winner was Matthew Johnson.

-Boys Conference Basketball Tournament starts today. HNS will play Wynot at Ponca at 6:00 pm. Team bus will leave at 4:15.

 

-Girls Conference Basketball Tournament continues tomorrow. HNS will play Winnebago at Homer at approximately 7:30 pm. Team bus will leave at 4:45.

-Teacher In-Service on Wednesday we will have a noon dismissal.

-FFA District Proficiency Review in Crofton on Wednesday.

-No Limits Applications for the Kick Butts Day Rally in Lincoln on March 17 and 18 are outside the central office and must be turned in to Nurse Freeman BEFORE February 12.
